We once got a call from a new homeowner in Irvine who’d just moved in and noticed a strange smell near their garage. Turns out, their gutters hadn’t been cleaned in over a decade, and the standing water had turned into a swampy mess. They were shocked at how much gunk we pulled out, and relieved when their home was protected again. At BJ’s Window Cleaning, we’ve been saving Orange County homes from neglected gutters for years, one ladder climb at a time. We’ve seen it all around Orange County — from rusted-out downspouts in San Clemente to full-blown rooftop swamps in Anaheim Hills.

Why Gutter Cleaning Matters More Than People Think
Gutters aren’t exactly top of mind until stuff starts overflowing or water starts leaking into places it shouldn’t. But here in Orange County, where palm fronds, jacaranda blooms, pine needles, and good old Santa Ana winds are doing their thing all year, those gutters fill up faster than most folks expect.
When that gunk builds up, water can’t drain right. It spills over the sides. It runs down walls. It seeps into foundations. Some of our customers don’t even realize the damage until they see the paint bubbling or mold creeping up behind the stucco. A quick clean could’ve saved them thousands.
What BJ’s Gutter Cleaning Service Actually Looks Like
Here’s what we do. We show up. We check everything. We get up on ladders and scoop out leaves, mud, roof gravel, random kids’ toys, plastic Easter eggs (true story). Then we flush everything clean, test the downspouts, and let you know if anything looks off — cracked joints, sagging areas, bird nests, that sort of thing.
- Hands-on cleaning — no shortcuts
- Water testing for full flow
- Downspout clearing and flush
- Quick check for signs of damage or future issues
We don’t try to upsell anything. We’re not gonna recommend gutter guards unless we think they’ll actually help you. We just clean it up, let you know what we see, and head out.
Every City’s Got Its Own Gutter Problems
Orange County’s big, and every part of it has different stuff falling into gutters. In Fullerton and Yorba Linda, it’s all those big trees dropping leaves all year. Over in Newport Coast, you get salty air and sun-baked grime. Santa Ana has more older homes with tight roof angles that collect debris like crazy. Laguna Beach? Sand and coastal winds blowing stuff into places it doesn’t belong.
We’ve cleaned gutters for homes in Mission Viejo, Irvine, Tustin, North Tustin, and everywhere in between. Each house is different, so we don’t show up with some cookie-cutter plan. We just get it done the right way, every time.
When Should You Book a Gutter Cleaning?
We tell most of our customers to aim for two cleanings a year. One before the winter rain starts. One again in the spring. But if you’re under big trees or you just bought a house and don’t know the last time the gutters were cleaned, it might be time to call sooner.
And every year we get slammed right after the first big November rain, when people realize their gutters are full and water’s spilling onto their patios. Don’t wait till then if you can help it. Fall is prime time to get ahead of it.
Got an Event or Inspection Coming Up?
We get a bunch of calls from folks getting ready for open houses, family parties, or HOA check-ins. One guy in Huntington Beach called us the week before his daughter’s wedding reception. They had guests coming in from out of town and didn’t want water stains showing on the front steps. Fair enough. We cleaned everything up and even hosed down the driveway after.
Some cities and associations are also starting to push for better exterior upkeep, especially around visible gutters and fascia boards. If your HOA’s breathing down your neck, we can help you get it sorted quick.
Why People Trust BJ’s
We’re not a big faceless company. We’re local. We’ve been climbing ladders and clearing junk out of gutters in Orange County for years. A lot of our clients come back every season because they know we do the job right and don’t try to sell them stuff they don’t need.
We’re respectful of your space, we clean up after ourselves, and we show up when we say we will. And if something’s not right, we fix it. No drama. Just good service. We like what we do, and we’re good at it.
